Sector U-tube Design

The U-tube connects two sectors together in series, so that one cooling circuit can serve a sector pair.  The current u-tube shape has been designed so that the ends can be flexibly moved to match up with the sector tube outlets, thus reducing any misalignment loads that the sector may experience when the u-tube is attached.  Since we have no hard numbers on allowable or anticipated loads imposed by the u-tube, this design is a first attempt, and will be changed as testing and analysis suggests is appropriate.
