from “root on ginger” and what they mean.
Written by Doug on 5/18/04
Why:
This error occurs because as part of the auto pdf process the pdf generation script starts up a WorkManager client on ginger. If a client can not be started or can not contact the server then the script just sits there running waiting for the client to start. Ten minutes later another new process starts and then 10 minutes later another one begins. Eventually the number of processes that ginger is capable of handling is exceeded.
What to do:
The solution is to determine why the client can not start or contact the server.
Reasons the client could not start are:
· could not get a license from ME1
· ME1 might be down or there might be a network issue.
Reasons the client could not reach the server are:
· services Network issues
·
Server (engwin1) down
·
Onespace services not running
·
Oracle not running
Services that need to be running are listed below.
Why:
Currently I don’t know why this error gets generated. In chatting with James he thinks that this occurs when “restartXvnc” is run on ginger but I have not been able to duplicate this error. – Doug
What to do:
At the moment I believe that this message is more informational than indicating a problem thus there is nothing to do. – Doug 5/18/04
