Other SheetAdvisor Enhancements

The following enhancements are new to SheetAdvisor 2001:

• Add Hem Offers the Same Set of Parameters as Add Lip
• Bend and Corner Reliefs are Easily Modifiable
• Top or Bottom Face can be the Anchor with Fold/Unfold

Add Hem now like Add Lip

You can now create hems using the same extensive set of parameters as when you create lips. The Add Hem creation menu is now very similar to the Add Lip menu, with most of the same options:

In particular, you can now specify the following when you create hems:

• The opposite edge on which to add the hem
• A hem offset
• Left and right angles and distances for the hem profile, via a submenu if necessary for more detailed specifications.

The Add Hem menu offers also the following:

• Automatic selection of left and right connections of the hem to the sheet
• Submenus for selecting relief tools when adding a bend or corner relief.

Note that the following restriction on Add Lip also applies to Add Hem: When selecting multiple edges, the command works reliably only on parts that are point symmetric.

Modifying Bend and Corner Reliefs

Bend and corner reliefs can now be modified directly using the standard Modify Sheet Features command. You simply click the relief to modify, and then select a new relief type from the Technology Database.

Base Face with Fold/Unfold

When unfolding and folding, you can now specify any top or bottom face of the part as the anchor for the operation. Also, this Base Face selection is retained after you click Next, so that you can continue unfolding bends without having to respecify the anchor. Any number of bends can be unfolded simply by clicking the bend and Next repeatedly.

An additional improvement relates to using Undo on multiple fold/unfold operations that were completed with the Next button. Now each fold/unfold constitutes an Undo step of its own, rather than all folds/unfolds together comprising a single Undo.
