Note: You must be administrator on your local machine in order to perform this procedure.
Login as administrator.
Uninstall any old versions of SolidDesigner that you may have installed on your machine.
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
Select the version of SolidDesigner that you wish to remove and click on the “Change/Remove” button.
Close the “Add/Remove Programs” window.
Insert the CD-ROM that contains the CoCreate software.
Navigate to your CD drive, it is most likely your E: drive and browse the CD.
Select the CoCreate folder.
Select the SolidDesigner folder.
Double click on “SETUP.EXE.
When prompted for the language select ENGLISH
Use the default installation directory, click Next.
Agree to the Copyrights, click Yes.
Select ENGLISH as the language, click Next.
Select “Customized Installation”, click Next
Select the options as shown then click Next.
Click Next when prompted for adding program icons to folders.
Click Next to “Start Copying Files”
Files will now be copied from the CD to your local hard drive.
When prompted for the license server host name enter “me1.lbl.gov” as shown below and click Next.
When prompted to change the SolidDesigner Configuration click No.
Select Netscape as your default browser, click Next.
When prompted for information wrt the “Remote Server Update Module” click Yes.
Select Finish to complete the installation. Do not start SolidDesigner at this time.
A few last things…
Right mouse click on the Start button and select explore. Navigate to Local
Disk (C:) Documents and Settings, All Users, Start Menu and delete the old
SolidDesigner pick. Leave the explorer open.
Next navigate to Local Disk (C:) Documents and Settings, All Users, Start Menu, Programs, CoCreate, SolidDesigner 8.x and right mouse click on the SolidDesigner (English) shortcut. Drag , copy, this shortcut to Local Disk (C:) Documents and Settings, All Users, Start Menu folder. This will put an icon under the Start menu.
Finally navigate to Local Disk (C:) Documents and Settings, All Users, Start Menu and rename the SolidDesigner (English) shortcut to indicate the current version that was just installed. For example: SolidDesigner v8.05
