Procedure for getting started:
Start SolidDesigner (OneSpace Designer – Modeling)
Because of our LBL customizations we will need to reconfigure
OSD to look more like it does “out of the box”. Specifically, change the units
to mm, create a default part p1, and create a default workplane w1.
Change the units to mm.
Double click in the “Inch | Deg
| Lb” area in the lower right hand portion of the OneSpace window and select
Millimeter as the units.
Create a default part called p1.
Create a default workplane
called w1.
The tutorial will ask you to load files into One Space when
you see the open folder icon.
The tutorial files are located in the following
directory:
C:\Program Files\CoCreate\OSD_Modeling_12.0.0.8\help\Common\documentation\GettingStarted\Tutorial_files.
Fortunately OneSpace
allows you to save the location of directories so that you can easily navigate
to them. We will save this location.
Click on the “Load” icon and then navigate to the
Tutorial_files folder.
Right mouse click in the white area and select “Add Current”.
Now, you can navigate back to this directory by right mouse clicking in the white area and selecting the correct path. You will need to repeat this procedure when you return to your own computer.
Next inside
SolidDesigner go to “Help” – “On Product”
Select “Getting Started” from your browser session.
After reviewing this opening page select First Steps.
Read, Get ready to design your first 3D part… then select – Familiarize yourself with the User Interface.
When the “Familiarize yourself with the User Interface”
window appears position it in the upper left hand corner of your screen.
Next shrink the OneSpace Designer session to take up the remaining portion of your screen. This will allow you to view the tutorial and OneSpace at the same time.
Your session should now look like the following:
You are now ready to return to your browser and begin the
tutorial…
Good Luck
