Updating SolidDesigner/Annotation Views Using The Remote Calculation Functionality.

Benefits:

· Allows the user to continue working while the view calculations are performed.

· Provides for faster view updates if the server is “faster” than your local computer.

How this works:

1. You SUBMIT your update job to a dispatcher.

2. The dispatcher then sends your job to a server.

3. The server performs the calculations and then passes the job back to the dispatcher.

4. The dispatcher notifies you when your job is complete. You then tell the dispatcher you are ready to RECEIVE your job and update the view.

Procedure:

Start Annotation.

Start the “Remote Calculation” module.

Application -> Modules -> Remote

When the Remote menu appears click on “Dispatcher”.

Enter engwin3 as the host and click the green “check”.

Note the Job Status and Server Status buttons are now active.

When you want to update a view remotely select “Submit” under Remote Update in the Update menu.

The job will be submitted to the dispatcher, the dispatcher will send the job to a server. The server will work on the job and when it is finished it will notify the dispatcher that the job is complete.

The Job Status window will indicate “Ready” when the view is ready to be RECEIVED.

You can now update the view on your drawing by selecting RECEIVE from the Update Menu.
